Boeing 707-138B

ex Qantas and most recently the private jet of John Travolta.

Initial plans to fly this aircraft home have been canned - backlog of maintenance at the local facility, spar cap repair costs, harsh environment etc have brought about the decision to dismantle and ship back to Australia.

Engine and pylons have arrived, tailplane/fin assembly has been removed and are next to be shipped, then fuselage and wings.

Grumman Tracker 842

Residing at Parkes Aviation Museum, this airframe is open to public inspection.

Tracker 842, a Grumman S-2E Tracker, has a significant history within the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). It was one of fourteen delivered in 1967. While most of the Tracker fleet was stationed at HMAS Albatross and involved in a tragic hangar fire in 1976, Tracker 842 was undergoing maintenance in Sydney and escaped destruction. It later participated in Operation Seawatch, patrolling the Timor Sea, and was eventually retired in 1984 before being donated.
